Personal Chef Services and Catering from
Chef Ephraim J. Gross

Personal Chef Ephraim J. Gross has been cooking ever since he could reach the stove which was pretty early being he stood an impressive 6 feet 6 inches tall by the time he was just 16 years old.
Encouraged to get involved in sports, he developed a love for basketball. Yet while excelling in basketball at the high school level his real passion was cooking.
Three of his four years in high school were spent both on the basketball court and in the kitchen. When he wasn't practicing his jump shot he could be found in Calvert High School’s Culinary Arts I, II & III classes learning the principles of proper French cuisine and the techniques necessary to become a successful chef.
Upon graduating from high school Ephraim attended Bowie State University as a freshman majoring in political science and focusing on his basketball career. However, it didn't take him long to realize that if he was going to be truly happy and successful, he had to follow his heart.
Those realizations lead him to enroll as a full-time student at the Baltimore International College where he earned an Associates Degree in Professional Cooking & Baking.
While working towards his culinary degree Ephraim used the discipline and stamina developed during his basketball days to juggle the demands of working in the high pressure, fast-paced environments of several well-known eating establishments.
Restaurants like Turf Valley Resort, Ellicott City, MD – and hotel kitchens such as – The Columbia Hilton Hotel, Columbia, MD – where he took on the roles of head front line cook and banquet kitchen apprentice under the leadership of Chef Jeff Roelecke became the new arena where he performed.
Wanting experience in preparing "everyday meals" Chef Ephraim accepted offers to work in lead kitchen roles for "The Melting Pot" and "The Olive Garden" where he earned the nickname, "Chef E" for his easy-going personality and unique ability to make handling a hectic kitchen seem effortless.
He also learned which flavors complement each other in various food categories and increased his understanding of preparing flavorful, healthy and simply satisfying foods.
Growing tired of the hustle and bustle of busy kitchens and late night/weekend shifts, Chef Ephraim endeavored to combine all that he loved about cooking with his belief that it's possible to "take the fuss outta food."
After some deep thought he followed his heart and instincts which lead him to starting his own personal chef service.
Chef E's unique approach to meal preparation and relentless quest to "make the ordinary extraordinary" makes his Personal Chef business, "Ya Gotta Eat, LLC" a must-have for any:

When cutting fresh mozzarella, instead of using a knife; use an egg slice due to the very soft texture of the cheese.
